Itinerary

Travelling by high-speed modern train, Florence is just 90 minutes from Rome, so we’ll meet at Roma Termini station to board and be whisked through the stunning countryside to our destination.

As soon as we step outside the train station in Florence, you see the medieval and renaissance architecture that encapsulates the city. We’ll meet up with a local guide, passionate about their city, for a tour of the best of Florence.

View Michelangelo’s iconic statue of David, the sculpture that made his name, with skip-the-line access, to discover why this statue is so special and famous.

Visit the Duomo, Florence’s imposing cathedral, with its Baptistery which has the ‘Gates of Paradise’. Wandering through the streets with your guide, we’ll pass the Palazzo Vecchio and come to Ponte Vecchio, one of Italy’s most beautiful and famous bridges.

Of course, no trip to Florence is complete without a chance to meander through the alleyways, thronged with history and shops, so we’ll give you some time to explore independently.

This is the most famous place in Italy for leather, so a visit to the markets or workshops could be on your list, or maybe take a stroll across the river to the artisanal Oltrarno district.

Lunch is not included, but our tour leader will offer great suggestions for eateries, from restaurants with the amazing Florentine Steak, to smaller spots with some of the best sandwiches you’ll ever taste.

When the day is done, we’ll travel back to Rome, and you can rest comfortably in the glow of a fantastic experience.
