Experience the glories of Ancient Rome, as an expert guides you in the footsteps of the Caesars. Discover how the Ancient Romans themselves lived, how their society worked, and learn the stories that have kept us fascinated for 2000 years.
 
Visit the incredible Colosseum – one of the world’s most iconic buildings. Site of gladiator contests, animal fights and all manner of (sometimes) gruesome entertainment, this building was one of the original major sports venues. With your guide you will visit the first and second levels of the Colosseum, hearing the stories and legends that have made this one of history’s most enduring icons.
 
Then move on to the nearby Roman Forum, the heart of the ancient city, where regular Romans, where the likes of Mark Antony gave their speeches to the people, where triumphal parades wound through the streets, and where Julius Caesar was honoured as a god after his death. Hear the tales of the great – and not so great – figures who once called this city home and made it live and breathe.
 
Also included is the Palatine Hill, one of Rome’s famous seven hills, and the one on which the city – and the whole Roman Empire – began. During the time of the Emperors, the hill was transformed into one huge palace complex, the remains of which are still standing. Discover the opulence of the Emperor’s residence, and discover the stories behind some of the amazing people who once called it home.
